Tiger Woods burst onto the professional golf scene in the late ’90s. At the time, I was enamored. I put a poster of him on my wall, wearing his signature bright red shirt and giving a fist pump. He had a plush tiger headcover for his driver - I bought one that was a lion (I wanted to be like him but not exactly like him). In April of 1997, after only a year on tour, he won The Masters in truly dominant fashion, crushing the field by twelve strokes. Two months after his historic victory, I graduated from high school. I remember thinking at the time, “This guy is WILDLY successful, and he’s only three years older than I am!”

In my mind back then, Tiger’s success came easily. He was so young, so naturally gifted; he must have been born to be this incredible golfer, right? Yes and no. Tiger was certainly blessed with all the physical tools to become an amazing athlete, but he also put in years of work and practice to get to the top of the golfing world. In old family videos, you can find a two-year-old Tiger, swinging a golf club and getting in repetitions. Starting at age four, he had his own golf coach and loved the game so much that he practiced constantly. Tiger was an overnight success - 20 years in the making.

Some accomplishments present themselves as one giant event, like Tiger’s Masters’ victory. Others are more like milestones - an achievement along the way, marking a place on the journey that feels significant. But any major accomplishment in life requires time, persistence, skill, and passion. I recently passed one of those major milestones. Last month, I had the 500th closing of my career.

I was thrilled to be able to celebrate alongside my clients at the title company. They were buying their first home, and they had worked hard for many years to get to the point where they had made it possible. We all reflected on the time, effort, and struggles we went through to reach our achievements. Then we toasted each other’s successes and saluted our accomplishments. And of course, my closer from FSA Title, whom I have used for a very long time, was there to join us as well. It was a special moment for everyone.

I celebrated a lot of my sales when I started selling homes – the first one, and the 2nd, the 5th, and the tenth. But then it started to become routine. It was refreshing to stop and really enjoy the moment, reflect on my career, and share a few stories. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of my past clients. You’ve consistently chosen me to be your agent for over 20 years, and I appreciate the trust and confidence you’ve put into me. THANK YOU! I couldn’t do it without you.

But I’m not done! Not by a long shot. I hope to continue in my career for years and maybe even decades to come. With your continued support of my work, hopefully I’ll be doing a write up about my 1000th sale in the not-too-distant future!
